A dazzling film directed by Sean Penn and starring Emile Hirsch as a wandering non-conformist who chose to hitchhike from America's sunbelt all the way up to Alaska and live like Thoreau in the wilderness instead of entering the rat race of everyday existence after college and benefiting from his parent's money and privilege. This is a must see for any and every starry-eyed dreamer.
